100th Rowell Ranch Rodeo

Howdy. It’s hometown rodeo season, yall! PRCA Pro Rodeo is coming to Castro Valley and Livermore.

First, up is the 100th Rowell Ranch Rodeo in Castro Valley. There have been numerous events happening all week but make sure to catch the next three days. Tonight, Friday May 20th, is the Rockin Bull Bash starting at 7:30 pm. The Rockin’ Bull Bash kicks the entire weekend into gear when the best bull riders take on the sport’s rankest bulls. Plus, an after party with live entertainment. Northern California’s popular independent country star,Kurt Van Meter. He has shared the stage with country music icons such as Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Eric Church and Gary Allen.

Then it’s rodeo time! This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22 is the PRCA Pro Rodeo starting at 1:30 pm. The ultimate cowbody experience starts at 12:00 noon and gives you and up close and personal look at the animals and rodeo equipment. It’s a great opportunity to learn first-hand about the sport of rodeo, the different events, equipment used and the animal welfare rules. You will see just how well these animals are taken care of day in and day out.

The Tri-Valley is so excited for the 100th anniversary of the Rowell Ranch Rodeo and is expecting a big turn out this year. If you are looking for something fun to do, this is it. Grab your tickets ahead of time and head on out to the historic Rowell Rodeo Park off of Highway 580 between Dublin and Castro Valley.

The Rowell Ranch Rodeo begun more than 100 years ago by local rancher and rodeo stock contractor Harry Rowell. This is a special time for the community to come together and celebrate while also giving back to local nonprofits.

Tickets are on sale now and range in price from $25 to $40. General admission and reserved seating are available.
