DELTA-10

How cool is it that they are so many different compunds to the cannabis plant?  Delta-9 THC is the main compound in cannabis strains and cannabinoid we all know and love. Delta-8 started to gain popularity within the last year or so for being similar to delta-9 just less potent and now to confuse everyone again, we have Delta-10.

Delta-10 is a cannabinoid found in trace amounts in the cannabis plant. It will get you high just like delta-9 THC but is considered less potent. Delta-10 is commonly processed from hemp-derived CBD. Delta-10 is known for providing energizing effects. It is comparable to strains like Sour Diesel, Pineapple Express or Super Lemon Haze.

So, hold on a second. Delta-8 and Delta-10 sound very familiar. What exactly is the difference between the two? Delta-8 is more like an indica and delta-10 is more like a sativa. To create both cannabinoids, CBD oil is first extracted from legally grown hemp. The resulting oil is processed into either delta-8 THC or delta-10 THC. The first difference is that different chemicals and reactions are being used to create the two. Delta-10 is not easy to manufacture because it must be refined so substantially. Chemicals are used in this extraction process so it is extremely important to only consume delta-10 products that have been lab-tested to ensure they are then free of any and all chemicals and contaminants. True delta-10 products will have a QR code showing the proof of testing certification (Leafly).

As always, it is worth noting that Delta-10 needs more research overall. Furthermore, every person and body chemistry will respond to compounds differently. Start slow and increase dosage from there as needed. Currently, Delta-10 products are federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, but some states have taken it upon themselves to outlaw it. Some producers will not ship to specific states for these reasons.
